Save and Load ShaderGlass Profiles on Windows
Profiles save an arrangement of shader choices and options so you can switch between common use cases without rebuilding everything manually.
Before you begin
Use Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or Windows 11 and a DirectX 11-capable GPU. Confirm the source window or capture device works without additional post-processing. The exact labels can differ between ShaderGlass versions and operating modes.
Step-by-step workflow
- Select a suitable operating mode and a shader for your application.
- Adjust scale, aspect ratio and visible effect parameters to taste.
- Use the profile save feature to store the current configuration with a descriptive name.
- Load the profile again when returning to that application; verify capture source and window geometry.
Important details and limitations
Maintain different profiles for desktop reading, pixel art, DOS games and capture-card content.
A profile is a settings preset, not a backup of the underlying game or video.
If a window changes resolution, revisit scaling after loading a saved profile.
How to verify the result
Compare the processed scene with the same source shown without ShaderGlass. Watch for clipping, unexpected color changes, black regions and input lag. Keep one parameter fixed at a time while troubleshooting. For version-dependent settings, refer to the developer manual instead of relying on old screenshots.
Questions and answers
Do ShaderGlass profiles contain games?
No. They preserve application settings, not a copy of the underlying content.
Should each game have a separate profile?
Only when its window size, aspect ratio or shader needs differ from your other setups.
